PURPOSE

Ashton-under-Lyne has a sizeable and growing Muslim population and with its close proximity to Manchester, good transport links and other amenable facilities, it is an  attractive place to live in.

In the last ten years, the Muslim population has steadily risen and continues to do so.

It has 6 Mosques strategically located to serve the community.Wards of Ashton under Lyne with the largest concentration of Muslims (just under 5000 out of a total of 47000) are the most economically disadvantaged, where at least 30% of children come from the most deprived households.

Although educational attainment is on the increase it still remains well below the local and national average.

Ethos

Falah-e-Darain was founded to provide a high quality primary Islamic education for both boys and girls (Maktab level aged 5 -15 years). Whilst there was and are providers of such education, the majority of them have not embraced new methodologies and trends in teaching and learning In 8 years of operation we have experienced rapid growth and with an enrollment of over 200 pupils we are the largest Madrasah in Ashton with many more on the waiting list.

Spread the good work!
